The Christmas Season: A Time of Gratitude, Trust, and Care

December 19, 2025

As a veterinarian, one of the most important pieces of advice I give pet owners is simple but critical: Vaccinate your pets against rabies. While it might seem like a routine box to check at your pet’s annual wellness exam, the rabies vaccine is far more than just a formality — it’s a powerful shield that protects not just your furry family member, but you and your entire community.

The Christmas season has a unique way of slowing us down and reminding us of what matters
most. It is a time marked by warmth, generosity, reflection, and gratitude—values that resonate
deeply with us at Palouse Animal Wellness and Surgery. As we move through this special
season, our hearts are full as we reflect on the incredible patients we care for and the families
who entrust us with their beloved pets.

For many of us, pets are not just animals; they are family members. They greet us at the door,
comfort us during hard times, and bring joy to everyday moments. Being invited into that
bond—especially during times of illness, injury, or uncertainty—is a profound responsibility. We
never take lightly the trust you place in our team to care for your pets’ health, comfort, and well-
being.

At Christmas, we are especially mindful of the countless moments throughout the year when you
have relied on us: the nervous first visits, the late-night emergencies, the hopeful follow-ups, and
the joyful wellness exams. Each visit represents a story, a relationship, and a shared goal—to
give your pet the best quality of life possible. We are deeply grateful for the confidence you
place in our doctors, technicians, assistants, and support staff to walk alongside you in that
journey.

This season also reminds us of the spirit of service. Veterinary medicine is, at its heart, a calling
to serve—both animals and the people who love them. Our team is motivated not only by
medical excellence but by compassion, integrity, and genuine care. We are thankful for the
opportunity to use our skills and knowledge to ease pain, restore health, and offer reassurance
when it is needed most.

Christmas is a time of hope, and we see that hope reflected every day in wagging tails, gentle
purrs, and healing progress. It is a season that encourages us to pause, give thanks, and recognize
the blessings around us—especially the relationships that make our work so meaningful.
From all of us at Palouse Animal Wellness and Surgery, thank you for allowing us to be a part of
your pets’ lives. Thank you for your trust, your kindness, and your partnership in care. We wish
you and your families—two-legged and four-legged alike—a joyful Christmas season filled with
peace, good health, and gratitude.

Merry Christmas and warmest wishes,
Dr. Katherine Miller
